Second cohort capstones — from December 2026
Chapter six is not an exercise. Every student finds a question of their own, pre-registers a design, runs the analysis and defends the result. The studies that come out of it will be listed here by name, with the student credited as the author.

The second cohort runs September to November 2026. Their capstone projects will be published on this page, credited by name, with a citable link. Applications for the next cohort are open.

Cancer metabolism, using public data
Our own work is in cancer metabolism, drawing on dependency screens, tumour expression cohorts and curated gene resources. We are drawn to the questions the field cites constantly and has tested rarely.
In preparation
Our first manuscript is in progress. When it is posted as a preprint it will appear here with its DOI, and the analysis code will be released alongside it.
How we choose what to work on
We look for claims the field cites often and has tested rarely, and for pairs of papers that reach opposite conclusions from the same data. Those are the questions where a careful answer is worth having.
Our standard
Everything here was produced under the same four rules.
Every number computed, never typed by hand. Thresholds fixed before results are seen. Controls run before claims. What could not be tested reported as untested, not as negative.
